Burke Family Builders is now well established in the Charlotte, North Carolina area - but did you know, our roots go back to Buffalo, New York? Our Grandpa Edmund F Burke was the first Burke to start a construction business in Buffalo. He taught his six sons, Patrick and Dave, who went on to teach their sons, including Ryan. Ryan jokes his earliest memory was picking up a hammer with his brothers.
Family is at the heart of everything we do. Our mom even designed our logo. Relationships are important to us, and our reputation as excellent managers, contractors, and craftspeople speaks for itself.

WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO
Burke Family Builders is proud to be a trusted name in Charlotte, North Carolina—but our story begins a generation earlier, hundreds of miles north, in Buffalo, New York.
Our grandfather Edmund F Burke was born in Buffalo to an Irish family. He grew a successful construction business from the ground up, rooted in hard work, sharp business sense, and a deep commitment to delivering quality. Starting with small jobs around the city, Edmund and his team eventually helped build entire neighborhoods, providing homes for thousands of families across Western New York.
He passed on his work ethic and values to his six sons, all of whom went on to launch various construction businesses of their own. Patrick Burke, his eldest son, brought the family trade to North Carolina and started Burke Family Builders — continuing the tradition of craftsmanship and integrity in a new community.
Patrick passed it along to his son Ryan, who grew up immersed in the world of building as well. Some of Ryan's earliest memories involve running through job sites, watching and learning from his father and uncles, whose philosophy of providing outstanding service to clients stays with him.
Ryan remembers his grandfather Edmund as a man who “treated everyone like gold”—from CEOs to custodians, he knew their names, asked about their families, and showed respect to all. That spirit of humility, honesty, and care lives on in everything we do.
