Project Spotlight: The Retreat at Lake Norman
The Retreat at Lake Norman is a thoughtfully curated collection of vacation properties nestled on the shores of Lake Norman. What began in 2020 with the purchase of raw land has since grown into a unique lakeside retreat. We designed and built each home from the ground up, infusing them with comfort, style, and functionality. Today, the property features three distinct houses, each divided into two beautifully appointed rental units—available for guests through top vacation rental platforms, managed by Blue Sky Village Rentals.

This world-renowned boutique hotel in North Carolina The Ivey's has been recognized as one of the top boutique destinations in the country. Burke Family Builders was selected by the development team to serve as General Contractor, entrusted with bringing their visionary concept to life.
In close collaboration with their talented designers, we brought together our skilled craftsmen and crews to construct a truly exceptional space. Within the historic walls of the Ivey’s building, high design, modern comfort, and timeless artistry converge to deliver the ultimate boutique hotel experience.
Project Spotlight: 4 ADU's = The High End Hostal
Ryan’s ADU journey began right in his own backyard—literally. He transformed his garage into a fully functional accessory dwelling unit (ADU), which quickly began generating income on Airbnb. With the profits from that first project, he purchased the lot next door and built three additional units.
Each ADU was thoughtfully designed, strategically listed, and quickly became self-sustaining—paying for themselves through short-term rental income. Ryan’s story is a powerful example of how ADUs can create financial freedom, maximize underused space, and build long-term equity. They are managed by Blue Sky Village Rentals.
Project Spotlight: Custom Coastal Dream Home
Our dear client found this lot for cheap - because it was famously difficult to build on, on Virginia Creek—just five minutes from the beach. He hired us, and we worked with expert engineers to find the best solution to build his dream home on. We sourced high-end designers, architects, and master craftsmen to come together to bring this custom estate to life. This 3-bedroom, 2.5-bath modern build combines elevated design with thoughtful functionality, featuring an open-concept layout, gourmet kitchen, and serene upstairs sitting area.
The primary suite is a true retreat, with full-length waterside windows, private deck access, and a spa-inspired bath with dual vanities, freestanding tub, and custom-built shelving in rich poplar wood. Every detail, from the 165+ can lights to the under-cabinet and festoon lighting, was designed to create warmth, comfort, and timeless beauty.
